Yeah, where’s your sense of optimism?

It’s just one bad day.”]

crommunique-deactivated20130417 asked: The idea that humans need massive amounts of protein is an idea peddled by livestock industry. Its VERY easy to meet your required protein intake in a day, and there are complete protein sources readily available at cheap prices to nearly everyone, worldwide. Not to mention that animal protein sources are very hard on your body and take much more energy to process, and ultimately cause a LOT of health problems. Beans > Flesh

Agreed! :) As a society, we consume way too much protein than is necessary for most of us, which can lead to calcium deficiency, kidney stones, and other health problems. There are also many nutritious plant-sourced alternatives to animal flesh, and while the processed kind can be pretty expensive, beans, legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, etc. are generally inexpensive and accessible. And when these healthful alternatives are easily attainable, there is no moral excuse whatsoever to continue to consume animal flesh or other animal derivatives simply out of habit or taste preference.

Need vs. greed is the key point here!
